Wood doesn't have to be brown. Our bowls show the color worlds hidden in solid wood - from warm amber to deep night blue to velvety green tones. This is made possible by Rubio Monocoat - a natural hard wax oil with over 50 shades that can also be mixed.
Why Rubio Monocoat?
Unlike conventional varnishes or stains, Rubio Monocoat penetrates deep into the wood and bonds at a cellular level. The result is protection that allows the wood to breathe - and a depth of color that cannot be achieved with varnishes. At the same time, the product is solvent-free and approved for food contact.
Our blends - exclusive to CreativeWoodShop
Some of our color shades are created by our own mixing ratios of two or more Rubio Monocoat colors. We develop these combinations in the workshop - through experimenting, comparing, and refining. The result are shades like old oak, natural oak, or retro black, which you will only find with us.
